This quick fix combo is fantastic when piled onto hot dogs, in a burger, fried chicken sliders, tacos, (especially fish tacos!) baked potatoes, and wait for it…even baked beans. Let us warn you – we mean it when we say zesty – the spicy addition of powerful flavor our pickled cabbage brings to almost any dish is one to beat.
- 4 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 medium sized red onion (sliced paper thin)
- 2 Tbs. preferred hot sauce (i.e., Cholula)
- 1 Tsp. fresh ground black pepper
- 1 Tsp. salt
- 4 Tbs. red wine vinegar
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 1 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
We recommend first prepping all ingredients around your cooking station before beginning for easy compilation.
Start by whisking together all above ingredients with the exception of the cabbage and onion in medium sized mixing bowl.
Add in cabbage – begin to toss – add onion, continue to toss.
Gently toss until cabbage and onion are fully dressed.
Allow the mixture to marinate in the refrigerator for 1-hour prior to use. This dish is served best if it has time to consolidate and really allow the flavor to absorb into the cabbage.
