If you are looking for the perfect cocktail to bring you into Spring, we have one for you to try. This frothy, ice cold bittersweet margarita will have you porch side sittin’ in no time, especially if you are having guests. This recipe should serve between 4-6 people. Add or take away as needed based on the number of people you are serving.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 6 shots of tequila (your preference!)
- 8 shots of lime juice
- 3 limes, sliced
- 1 cup of sugar
- ¼ cup of water
- 1 bunch of fresh mint leaves
Let’s Get To It!
First things first – put those margarita glasses to be used in the freezer!
Using a saucepan, combine fresh raspberries, sugar, and water over medium-high heat. Whisk combined mixture continuously while over heat. The berries should begin to break down and infuse with sugar and water. Cook for 4-5 minutes until you have a syrup-like texture. Remove from heat and let cool.
Once your fresh raspberry syrup has fully cooled down, pour mixture through a mesh strainer to catch any pulp or seeds.
Take glasses out of the freezer and line the rim with a wedge of lime and salt.
Add the desired amount of ice to each glass.
Take a cocktail shaker or blender and combine the tequila, lime juice, and raspberry syrup and a few crushed mint leaves. Shake, shake, shake it off!
Once well blended, immediately pour mixture over ice in frothy cold glasses with lime and salt rim.
Add a few mint leaves to the top of the glass and a wedge of lime.
Summer’s Comin’!
