Ready for a French fry replacement? We’ve got you covered. In fact, one might argue that our crisped potato wedges have WAY more flavor than any old French fry, not to mention they are world’s healthier. This recipe couldn’t be more basic and easy – isn’t it interesting how some of the best things in life are just that simple? This is one of those things.
Ingredients:
- 3 medium-sized brown potatoes
- 1 ½ cups extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbs. “24 Seasoning Salute” from Trader Joes
- 1 tsp. rosemary
- ½ tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbs. garlic salt
- Black pepper, grounded
Thoroughly scrub the outside skins of each potato and rinse. You can make the potato wedges with the skin on or off, but in order to get the crisp we are going for, we recommend keeping the skin on (added nutrients!)
Slice each potato in half lengthwise and then in half again. Slice each wedge to be medium thickness – all wedges should be around the same size to avoid over or undercooked wedges.
Place wedges in a medium-size mixing bowl, and pour in olive oil. Fold the oil over throughout each wedge, making sure all are individually coated.
Add 1 Tbs. “24 Seasoning Salute,” and garlic salt. Continue to fold and mix.
Foil up two oven trays and place the oiled wedges evenly separated on each. Sprinkle the other Tsp. of “24 Seasoning Salute” over the wedges on foil, as well as the rosemary, paprika, and pepper.
Bake for 15 minutes. Monitor wedges and continue to add on minutes to achieve the level of crispiness desired.
These are best served right out of the oven fresh, as the crisp will not keep for leftovers. Now you have your own version of extremely healthy “fries” that are not fried, and that’s how we like it!
